Project Space

Tight Modern Winners' Tour
2 - 24 February 2018

MK Gallery Project Space

Throughout 2018, the Project Space continues to play host to a programme of exhibitions which set out to connect artists and audiences in a series of City Club 'conversations'.

Tight Modern is the world's smallest temporary pop-up gallery; a miniature replica of the iconic Tate Modern; showcasing the work of artists on the margins. The programme, led by Creative Future, has enabled hundreds of under-represented artists who face extreme barriers - due to mental health, disability, identity, health or social circumstance - to exhibit their work.

This year's miniature replica will digitally project the artwork of 15 under-repesented artists - 10 winners from last year's tour plus 5 'wild card' artists picked by Creative Future from the Tight Modern 2016/17 exhibitors. Pieces were selected by a panel of arts industry professionals, who also chose the Curators' Choice prizes. Exhibition visitors wil be able to pick their own favouite for the Public Vote prizes. In all, six works will be chosen at the Awards Ceremony in March 2018.

Alsongside: Arts for Health MK, Camphill Milton Keynes and Project Art Works exhibit works representing a wider network of organisations supporting similar practice both locally and nationally. The exhibition is followed in March by work from Step Up, an artists development programme led by Arts for Health MK.

Tight Modern is delivered by Creative Future.
