A Catch Light Collective Exhibition
3 – 27 February 2011 / Preview 3 February , 6-7.30pm. All welcome
Photographic art group Catch Light Collective and film artist Luke Williams present their latest show True Story in Project Space.
Created to accompany our current exhibition of work by Gerard Byrne, True Story explores how works of art can be interpreted through other art mediums. Catch Light Collective used a random piece of vintage magazine text as the starting point for the process, with each member individually interpreting the text through photographic images.
The group then came together to create a collective, mixed-media art collage, before handing it over to local film artist Luke Williams. Without seeing the original text and photographs, Williams used the collage to create a short film specifically for the True Story exhibition.
Catch Light Collective is a new group founded in April 2009. It was created to bring together the best photographic artists from Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.
Members are from different photographic backgrounds, using both film and digital, which makes for interesting and engaging discussions when the group meet. It is a way to improve as artists and to inspire each other to create new works.
