Selected by Andrew Lord to complement his current exhibition, this adaptation of Shelagh Delaney's revolutionary play offers a perfect example of New British Cinema's 'kitchen sink realism'.  It explores issue of race, gender and sexual orientation set against the gritty landscape of 1950s Salford.


Emma Fry, Head of Learning at MK Gallery, will give a short introductory talk on 1960s British Cinema.
