Thursday Scratch Nights

Outdoor Performance

Event Postponed

One off event in Margret Powell Square

Peter J Taylor Guitar Orchestra

*This event has been postponed until further notice*

Peter James Taylor is a contemporary composer who’s on a mission to electrify the orchestra. Over the past 5 years Taylor has performed several large and small-scale compositions, both nationally and internationally, playing with over 200 musicians. Drawing inspiration from minimalism in rock and classical music, his compositions are dense, physically powerful experiences that transcend the humble process of their creation. In 2009, he premiered a major composition written for 26 guitars and drums at the New Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria during its reign as European city of culture.

Taylor is currently looking for volunteer musicians to play his latest composition to be staged outside MK Gallery in Margret Powell Square. Although the music is not particularly hard to play, musicians will be asked to specially prepare their instruments. Also a basic knowledge of Staff Notation will be required to perform the piece. Musicians would also be required to attend a practice one day before the event. For more information contact:
