Film Screening with Live Score
The Dog and The Palace by Gary Thomas

Thursday 7 June / Starts at 6.30pm / Free

The Dog & The Palace is about a young boy who is so inspired by watching the 2012 Olympic Games on TV that he decides to write to The Queen of England to say ‘Thank You’. He sends her a parcel, a statue of his little dog, and the film follows the journey of the young boy as he persuades his family they should visit London to celebrate the Games.

Gary Thomas is an artist, writer and film maker based in the South East. His work explores nature, mental health, sexuality and images of disability. The Dog and the Palace was awarded the London 2012 Inspire Mark which recognises innovative and exceptional projects that are directly inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

At this event, we will be screening the film twice. Once with the original sound score and once with an entirely new score created on the night. We are looking for local musicians to come along with their instruments and work with the composer of the original score to develop an intuitive, musical response to Gary’s film.

This event is a collaboration between MK Gallery and Milton Keynes City Orchestra.
