Comic Book Workshop 1

Comic Book Workshop 1: Comic Exercises

Wednesday 18 July / 6pm - 8pm / £10, £25 for all three

Join MK-based comic book maker Paul Rainey as he shares his experience of creating comics, self-publishing and making them available to the public.  These evening sessions can either be enjoyed individually or as part of a series of three.

Whether you are an experienced creator or curious about the prospect of making your own comics, this first workshop aims to explore and to challenge your understanding of what a comic is.  Paul will present various exercises and disciplines with references to both his own experiences and those of more established artists. There will be a period of spontaneous comic making in which you will be invited to complete a comic strip for a randomly generate title, and then to encounter each other’s results.

This is part of a series of three workshops taking place on Wednesdays 18 July and 1 and 15 August.

Paul Rainey is the writer and artist of diary strip Book of Lists which appeared daily online and is now available as a book.
