This film, set during the period just before the beginning of the first World War, beautifully captures the timelessness of the Cornish coast.  The story centres on the life of anti-Modernist artist Sir Alfred Munnings, leader of the Lamorna Group, a branch of British Impressionism, better known as the Newlyn School of Art.

Munnings, well known for his now hightly sought after equestrian paintings, is less well known for his involvement at the centre of a complex love triangle involving aspiring artist Florence Carter-Wood and Gilbert Evans, the land agent in charge of the Lamorna Valley estate.
