The Modern Architectural Legacy of Milton Keynes

Thursday 6 November / 7pm / Free / Pre-booking essential via Eventbrite

Roger Bowdler, Designation Director for English Heritage and Claire Price, Conservation Adviser for The Twentieth Century Society discuss Listing, Post-War Architecture and preserving Milton Keynes’ icon buildings. Presented in association with Milton Keynes Forum

Roger Bowdler joined English Heritage in 1989 as a historian. He has worked as a Listing Inspector and as Head of Designation. His background is in art history: he studied at Cambridge, where he completed a PhD on 17th century English church monuments and memento mori iconography, and retains a particular interest in funerary art; he was until recently chairman of the Mausolea & Monuments Trust, and retains a keen interest in commemorative art of all sorts. Roger is now English Heritage’s Designation Director, responsible for the National Heritage List for England, and for our recommendations for new entries to Government, as well as for associated heritage data records.

Clare Price qualified as a Chartered Surveyor, and worked in the management of pension fund property portfolios, before going freelance. To further her interest in and enthusiasm for listed buildings, she gained an MSc in Conservation of the Historic Environment at Reading University and joined the Society initially as a casework volunteer before being appointed as part-time Conservation Adviser at the beginning of October 2012.
