Membranes for Snorkels


When first developed, hydrophobic membranes that support gas exchange into and out of liquids were seen as a curiosity, but have since become the main stay technology for applications ranging from cardiothoracic surgery to the nitrogenation of beer. Dr Ewan McAdam, from the Cranfield Water Science Institute, will introduce the mechanisms and development pathway of this transformational separation technology.
