Alice Boland-Rhodes

Alice Boland-Rhodes is a performer from Milton Keynes, she trained at Bucks New Uni in Drama and Creative Writing. She has shown her work at many festivals and shows including the York Lesbian Arts Festival, Bristol Shakespeare Festival and MK Festival Fringe.

Reflective is a collection of short performance pieces. The work looks at what I means to be reflective, reflective about our experiences and our relationships, how these experiences shape us and how they can have a positive or negative impact on our lives. This is the first solo work by Alice and she has enjoyed having the freedom to write without limits.

Deborah Fielding
Writer and sometime illustrator, Deborah Fielding specialises in short stories and flash fiction. She has had several stories published in the writing magazine, Vintage Script and London's Litro Magazine. More recently, having completed a series of hand-bound single-story chapbooks (or pamphlets), Deborah has written for .Cent Magazine and has taken part in the Science writes to Life collaboration with Developmental Psychologist, Dr Louise Bunce. She regularly reads at events across the country.

Eleni Cay
I’m a researcher who occasionally likes to escape the everyday to the world of poetry.  I love swans, Chopin and watching the clouds. Sometimes, from a fleeting spurt of inspiration, my thoughts come to me as metaphors and create a unique, authentic space which longs to be shared.  I firmly believe in the power of such spaces in all of us. These lyric confessions are my invitation to open up such spaces in you and your friends. Together, we can capture the serendipity of life. I've been writing poetry since I was a young child. Most of those early poems have never been shared. Around the age of 13, I started putting together small booklets entitled "Small minutes of poetry" which I shared with my family and friends. My first collection was born after I had won several national poetry competitions in my native Slovakia. The book is currently being translated to German and French. This year, I'm working on my first English collection’.

This event forms part of MK Calling 2015 (3 July - 6 September 2015), which presents the work of almost 70 artists, musicians and performers from Milton Keynes. Find out more
