City Club is an ambitious proposal to animate the public spaces surrounding MK Gallery and the northern end of Midsummer Boulevard. For the next 18 months, the Learning team will use the three main themes of City Club (garden, piazza and playground) as a means to explore how we use public space in Milton Keynes and how, as a community, we can engage with MK Gallery’s exciting expansion plans.
Set foot in any city and you will be surrounded by a dizzying array of sounds from beeping cars to chirping birds and beyond. Join us this April as we take inspiration from the sounds of the city in a series of fun and experimental, artist led workshops.
Walk through any city and you’re sure to find music. From buskers performing on the street to noisy car stereos, music is often part of the soundscape. Inspired by this cacophony of sound join artist Aaron Head and use old records and the principles of a record player create your own colourful sound machine to play abstracted and distorted tunes.
Places are limited, and booking essential. Ensure you book the correct number of child tickets for children that you need and adult tickets for adults. The charge is payable on the door, but due to the popularity of the sessions, please reserve your tickets online. Thank you.
