The Friends of the Caribbean Film Showcase (FOTCFS) celebrates the talents of established and emerging filmmakers of Caribbean heritage who practise their art across the Caribbean Diaspora worldwide - including the UK and the Caribbean. FOTCFS will present a multi-ethnic mix of exciting and dynamic films that showcase diverse shared stories and cultures.


Pre-Feature Shorts - Meet the Friends of the Caribbean Cricket team
Prior to the main feature there will be  a short film on Jamaican heritage and two mini documentaries on cricket in the West Indies, including Brian Lara 401 not out, focusing on the Trinidadian former international cricketer who is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest batsmen of all time.

Feature - Barrow: Freedom Fighter 
Barrow: Freedom Fighter, is a passionate story about the courage of one man  who relentlessly preached a gospel of economic self-reliance and self-respect to the people of his native country Barbados and beyond. He defied the status quo, confronted racism and classicism, fought colonial oppression and  selflessly led his people to political and economic freedom. A hero lives for the other...that was The Right Excellent Errol Walton Barrow, Father of Independence, Reformer, National Hero of Barbados.

A pop up cinema offering an alternative film experience!  Devised by Independent Cinema MK in association with MK Gallery. Enjoy new releases, cult classics, special events,
screen talks and curated film seasons – all for £6 (£4 concs.). Our screen bar provides modestly priced wine, beer, and soft drinks, plus locally made chocolate from The Chocolate Mill MK and gourmet popcorn.
