Currrent Exhibition - Final Week


Until 7 September


This exhibition about the Greek myth of Icarus includes historical and modern paintings, drawings, prints and films by 40 artists, related to themes of falling and destruction.  


Works by Broodthaers, Constant, Dubuffet, Escher, Kandinsky, Nauman, Riley and Wool, are presented alongside a contemporary film by British artist Catherine Yass.

The photographer An-My Lê (born Saigon, 1960), explores the culture of war through her work. This mid-career survey features the most comprehensive showing to date of her travels with the American armed forces in Events Ashore (2005-2014).

This book brings together, for the first time in English, a selection of texts about the work of German artist Peter Dreher, who exhibited at MK Gallery last year. It includes essays by Michael Archer, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Anthony Spira, Dirk Teuber, Lynne Tillman.

Since 2012, Scott Mason has been sonically documenting exhibitions in public galleries and artist-run spaces. This looped hour-long pre-recorded DJ mix contains over 25+ recordings from around the country, changing throughout the month as new recordings are undertaken.

A group exhibition of exceptional work by graduating students from around the region, selected by MK Gallery from University of Bedfordshire, Bucks New University and University of Northampton.  


One Platform exhibitor will be nominated by MK Gallery for the South East regional Platform Graduate Award (2014), for a chance of winning £2,500 and a twelve month mentoring scheme.

19 Sep / Inside Llewyn Davis Directed by the Coen brothers, the film follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. 


26 Sep / Mirage Men A documentary adventure about espionage, psychological warfare and UFOs. This screening will be introduced by writer and producer Mark Pilkington.

In preparation for November’s Project Space exhibition MK born artist Emily Shepherd invites individuals to take part in a series of free workshops, designing and making ceramic souvenirs in homage to The Point Cinema Complex.

A past family workshop

Call out for Buckinghamshire artists

MK Gallery's Learning Team is currently recruiting for Collaborate 2015, an artist-in-residence family programme offering inspiring and experimental cross-artform collaborations via our holiday sessions. 


The chosen artist will be asked to propose and invite a different artist to collaborate with during each holiday period through a series of six sessions.
