New exhibition

Peter Dreher
20 September - 24 November 2013

 

We present the first UK public exhibition by German artist Peter Dreher (b.1932), renowned for his series of over 5,000 paintings of the same, empty glass, produced almost daily for the last 40 years.

 

Special Event
On 18 October members of English National Ballet will make a short dance response to Peter Dreher’s work.

Coinciding with Black History Month, Yaw Asiyama presents an installation about individual freedom through conversations in art expressed via painting, poetry, photography, fashion, music, short stories drama and dance.  The exhibition includes contributions from students to established professional artists, and will continue online after 3 November.

Using Peter Dreher's work as point of departure, this month we screen a selection of historical and contemporary artist films on the theme of still life, varying from the straightforward documentary to heavily manipulated styles.  Artists include: Gary Hill, Peter Gidal, Jack Goldstein and Sam Taylor Wood.

A drop-in event courtesy of the MK Pre-School Learning Alliance, involving crafts, stories, music and more, inspired by Guy Fawke’s and Diwali, including an early taste of Festive Road's Diwali celebrations. .

Drop-in, artist-led workshops inspired by themes from the Wizard of Oz film, followed at 4pm by a free performance by  8-14  yr old participants from MK Theatre's 3-day musical theatre course.

Visual Access Tour and Workshop

Peter Dreher Exhibition 

14 October / 12 - 2pm / Free (booking required)

Audio-described tour and artist-led workshop 

Artist Emma Wilde conducts this exhibition tour and related workshop, designed for visitors aged 16+ with a visual impairment .  The activities will be suitable for all abilities and focus on still life and drawing inspired by Peter Dreher's work.
