What about Sunday? is the first UK exhibition by Swiss artists Silvia Bächli (born 1956) and Eric Hattan (born 1955). The exhibition includes over 100 drawings by Bächli made over the last 25 years and some of Hattan’s trademark videos and humorous installations incorporating caravans, lamp posts and Christmas trees.

It comprises a range of artists' videos by her current and former students from the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste, in Karlsruhe, Germany: Selma Alacam, Mia Bailey, Yvonne Engelhart, Heloise Herz and Selene States.

Children ages 8 and 9 from Old Stratford Primary School have been looking in detail at the patterns, textures and vibrant colours that permeate Indian culture. Images of India presents the resulting, collaborative work, including beautiful birds, puppet portraits, patterned paisleys, fabulous fabrics, exotic elephants and even a proud peacock.

MK Gallery presents the first major survey of Andrea Büttner’s work, including woodcuts, sculpture, film and new work created specifically for the show in Milton Keynes. The accompanying publication, co-produced with MMK, Museum of Modern Art, Frankfurt, will be the first monograph on the artist.

Eric Hattan's new public artwork at Campbell Park

To sound sheep or: as sound as a bell 

Campbell Park, central Milton Keynes

 

Our current exhibitor, Eric Hattan, has made a new public artwork for Milton Keynes. To sound sheep or: as sound as a bell (2013), is an installation of 49 bells with a collar attached to a tree branch in Campbell Park.  Bells like this are usually worn by sheep in the Swiss mountains.  The artwork has been commissioned by MK Gallery in collaboration with The Parks Trust, Milton Keynes

This is your final chance to submit your entries for MK Calling. We are calling all cultural and creative people with a connection to Milton Keynes to apply for inclusion in a season of exhibitions and events in summer 2013. Please contact us if you are a painter, poet, singer, graphic designer, maybe a baker or hairdresser or involved in any other creative activity. There are no restrictions – we want to hear from you!
