An-My Lê

This survey by award-winning Vietnamese-American artist An-My Lê explores the myth and memory of war through photography and film. 


The exhibition includes: evocative peacetime images of Vietnam; staged scenes by hobbyist war re-enactors; footage of the American military training for the Iraq war; and depictions of the US navy on missions across the globe.

Acclaimed Italian documentarist, Antonello Branca's portrait of America in the 1960s, as seen through the experiences of artists of the Beat Generation and Pop Art. What's Happening? gives life to an irreverent picture of the country during the Vietnam War.

Emily Shepherd: The Point Souvenir Shop

This affectionate homage to Milton Keynes' iconic red ziggurat by artist Emily Shepherd aims to encourage a nostalgic look back at the early development of The Point entertainment complex. Serving as a make-shift souvenir shop, early film footage will be presented alongside souvenirs created by the artist and workshop participants.

A screening of this low-budget space comedy, with a new soundtrack performed live by Sheffield-based musicians, Animat.


29 November / Oscilanz, Isnaj Dui and Stereocilia / £5

Improv trio Oscilanz draw inspiration from the music of Hildegard Von Bingen, Isnaj Dui writes neo-impressionistic music, and Stereocillia creates layers of sound using looping techniques.

Peter Dreher publication

Peter Dreher Book Launch

Please join us for the book launch of Peter Dreher: Just Painting at Tenderbooks and Tenderpixel, London, on Wednesday 5 November from 2pm to 8pm. The launch will include a one-day exhibition of two paintings from the series Every Day is a Good Day, followed by a guided tour and drinks from 6pm.  


The book, published by Occasional Papers and MK Gallery, is currently available to buy from our online shop.

New City Art Prize

Shortlisted artists: Beatrice Gibson, Siobhan Hapaska, Jimmy Merris and Roger Palmer


An exhibition of work by the four artists shortlisted for the inaugural MK Community Foundation £10,000 New City Art Prize for the Visual Arts. The prize aims to raise the national arts profile within Milton Keynes by highlighting some of the very best examples of new art from across the UK. The winner will be announced on the evening of 4 December 2014.
