Lost & Found: Looking for New Recruits!

Lost & Found, the gallery’s Young People’s Project is currently looking for new members to join the group.

The group offers fantastic opportunities for people aged 15-24 years, creating exciting and challenging cultural projects and events, including visual art, music and film. We’re particularly interested in hearing from teachers with students interested in getting involved –as this is a fantastic opportunity for CV enhancement and achieving Arts Award.

The new group will hold their first meeting on 14 December 2012, please get in touch to arrange a class talk or assembly with our Lost & Found Mentor Tom Loake in the coming weeks.

MK Creative Learning Network

In January 2012 MK Gallery and The Stables established the MK Creative Learning Network, a group of around 25 arts, cultural and heritage organisations based in Milton Keynes who have an educational output. The Network’s main aim is to collectively enhance the quality and quantity of opportunities for children, young people and families living in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area to engage with arts, heritage and culture.

We are delighted to announce that MK Creative Learning Network has now secured Artswork funding to pilot a series of ‘taster days’ in which teachers  information about workshops, local artists, teacher CPD opportunities and projects. Planning for these sessions is now underway and further information will be circulated in the coming months.

Host an Exhibition at MK Gallery

We're always on the lookout for proposals from schools and colleges, interested in presenting an exhibition in our Project Space. It could be a body of work produced by pupils in the classroom, or the result of a project in response to our exhibitions programme.

Schools exhibiting this year include St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Primary School in November 2012 and Old Stratford Primary School 8 - 31 March 2013.

After School Art Clubs

After School Art Clubs

Are you interested in working with us to organise an after-school art club at your primary or secondary school? We are currently working with Christ the Sower, New Bradwell, and Old Stratford to organise and deliver artist-led weekly Art Club programmes, supporting the schools by recruiting suitable artists, providing advice on content and organising complimentary exhibition tours and visits to MK Gallery for Art Club participants. The Art Club can run for 5 to 12 weeks, and is a fantastic way of enriching your creative learning offer to pupils.

Outside of the Classroom

We ask that you encourage your learners to visit the gallery independently or with their families. To compliment the creative work you do within school, we programme a variety of exciting opportunities for families and young people to participate in. In addition, we are happy to link up with PTAs, family support groups and local Children’s Centres.
