New Exhibition

An-My Lê

Until 23 November 2014 


This survey by award-winning Vietnamese-American artist An-My Lê explores the myth and memory of war through photography and film.


The exhibition includes: evocative peacetime images of Vietnam; staged scenes by hobbyist war re-enactors; footage of the American military training for the Iraq war; and depictions of the US navy on missions across the globe.

Told from the perspective of the narrator, Folk in her Machine looks back over archive film footage collected on repeated visits to two folk customs in Britain - Mayday in Padstow and Haxey Hood in North Lincolnshire.

30 October / Artist Moving Image Programme: Ryan Trecartin L.A.-based artist Ryan Trecartin’s videos explore language and identity, while spotlighting the contradictions and nuances of American culture.

24 October / The Pauper's Guide to Sci-Fi Filmmaking Louis Savy, founder and director of SCI-FI-LONDON Film Festival, will discuss how Sci-Fi films can be made with little or no budget. 


31 October / Afrofuturism Writer, editor and film curator, Basia Lewandowska Cummings selects three artist films that explore Afrofuturism.

Souvenir Point Workshops

In preparation for November’s Project Space exhibition MK born artist Emily Shepherd invites individuals to take part in two free workshops - held at Milton Keynes Arts Centre - designing and making ceramic souvenirs in homage to The Point Cinema Complex.  


Session 1: Wednesday 8 October, 6.30-9pm
