Milton Keynes Chamber announces MK Gallery as its Charity for 2014/15

Today Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce announced MK Gallery as it’s Charity of the Year 2014/15.

Since opening in 1999, MK Gallery has developed a reputation as one of the UK’s leading regional public art galleries. As Charity of the Year, MK Gallery will have complimentary membership of the Chamber’s newly formed Business Alliance Group, enabling it to enhance its local profile via a number of channels provided by the Chamber.

Anthony Spira, MK Gallery’s Director, said: “MK Gallery is extremely pleased to have been selected as Milton Keynes Chamber’s Charity of the Year.

MK Gallery is not just a gallery; we are a publically funded educational charity working with schools and community groups locally as well as artists, writers and international museums.

The foresight and generosity of Milton Keynes Chamber will enable more people to enjoy and be inspired by the arts. Charity of the Year status is vitally important to MK Gallery, especially as we prepare for major capital expansion over the coming years. We would encourage other businesses and organisations to support the Chamber’s fund-raising lead.”

Paul Griffiths, Chief Executive of Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are delighted to adopt MK Gallery as our first charity of the year and welcome them into our Business Alliance Partnership.

The Chamber is keen to support the work of local charities that make a valuable contribution to the community.  As a result of being chosen, we will be working with MK Gallery to raise awareness of its work and raise money through staff fund-raising.”
