MK Gallery first opened its doors to the public on 8th October 1999 with an exhibition by British artists Gilbert and George. Over the last 15 years the gallery has presented well over a hundred exhibitions and received almost 400,000 visits.

Today's first chance visitor through the doors, octogenarian Mr Jack Leibowitz from Milton Keynes, was delighted to be welcomed with a bumper selection of past MK Gallery exhibition catalogues. A resident of Milton Keynes for the last 30 years, Mr Leibowitz has been making photographs inspired by nature for the last 40 years and had a work included in MK Gallery's MK Calling exhibition last summer. He recalls seeing the first Gilbert & George show, and others since, but today was particularly enjoying the silver gelatin prints by An-My Lê in the current photography exhibition.
