Our How to Construct a Time Machine exhibition Prize Draw - open to all visitors who completed a short gallery survey - has been won by Mary Kendall from Fullers Slade, Milton Keynes.

Mary, seen collecting her prize today during a visit to the newly opened Ellen Altfest exhibition, has a longstanding interest in film, so was especially pleased to have won the DVD compilation of 60 short films from the BFI National Archive, showing cinema in its infancy.

A regular visitor to MK Gallery since it first opened in 1999, Mary’s favourite past exhibitions include Michael Craig-Martin in 2004 (especially for its exterior commission which she dubbed the gallery’s “pink period”), and Marcus Coates in 2010, which included the multi-screen installation, Dawn Chorus.

Mary commented, "I've enjoyed seeing the Ellen Altfest exhibition this afternoon which I think has been beautifully curated. I very much enjoy visiting MK Gallery exhibitions and always feel at home here.  It has been great to witness  the gallery's progress over the last 15 years and I'll be interested to follow its development as it expands in future.

Mary, who mentioned that she was a former life model at Dyfed College of Art in her youth, said that she keeps up to date with gallery exhibitions and events via the gallery's e-newsletters and plans to return tomorrow for the Friday Night Film screening.
