MK Gallery was recognised last night for its contribution to Milton Keynes when the Gallery won in the Community Impact category at the 2016 Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards.

Established three years ago, The Business Achievement Awards help build valuable recognition for the contribution that the private and third sector make in the growth and prosperity of Milton Keynes. The award evening was attended by 600 business and community representatives from throughout the City.

Speaking of the award, Clare Wood, Head of Development at MK Gallery, said “It is absolutely fantastic to receive recognition for the important work MK Gallery does. As a cultural and educational charity, we are focused upon supporting people living in and around Milton Keynes to have a positive experience of the arts. Although our work is greatly appreciated by those that participate in our varied creative programmes and attend MK Gallery exhibitions, it is such a boost to also be recognised by the civic and business community. The timing of this award is all the more meaningful as the Gallery is about to start its major capital expansion project to renovate and improve the existing venue. Opening in 2017 to coincide with the 50th anniversary year of Milton Keynes, the expanded MK Gallery will enable us to meet the cultural needs of residents and visitorsfor many years to come.”
