Platform 2016: Emma Hardy

Emma Hardy

8 - 18 September 2016

Preview: 8 September / 7pm / All welcome

Emma Hardy has just graduated from Bucks New University with a Fine Art BA (Hons) degree.

My practice is a transformative one; taking a traditional decorating medium (emulsion paint) and using it as a more enigmatic sculptural material. I explore the ways I can not only change and evolve the liquid form of paint into a sculptural solid, but how I can also deliver an examination of what paint is able to perform and become in both context and form; how paint can be used as a material, how it has the ability to mimic other textures as well as playfully explore the relationship to its traditional state.

My pieces are characters and personalities where my role in the process is acting as director; my paint is the leading role and the personality that I am projecting, but when required I introduce supporting players in the form of objects and tools.’
