Platform 2016: Megan Drury

Megan Drury

25 August - 4 September 2016

Preview: 25 August / 7pm / All welcome

Megan Drury has just graduated from the University of Bedfordshire with a Photography and Video Art BA (Hons) degree.

'Narrative drives my work and photographic and filmic collage helps bring it together. I am heavily influenced by personal experiences and try to make relatable art. I want my work not to reflect myself but allow others to see reflections of their self.'

The knowledge (2016) - HD video

'A short film depicting the last years of Adam Drury, a 26 year old pub worker and taxi driver from south east London. He was expecting a baby, was an avid arsenal fan and was planning to go away in 1995. He died the 30th of November 1994. Three days before his girlfriend’s birthday and the day he was going to announce he was going to be a dad. Twenty four days before his 27th birthday.  I, the baby, scoured England to find his friends and family to then show them what I had and take them back twenty one years. I recorded their points of view and stitched these together to create a documentary timeline of his final years.'
