Platform 2017: Dominyka Barauskaite

Dominyka Barauskaite

14 - 18 September 2017

Preview: 14 September / 6pm / All welcome

Dominyka Barauskaite (born Lithuania, 1996) studied BA (Hons) Fine Art, at the University of Hertfordshire.

During my practice, I started seeing how my sculptural installations always relies on the space around it and connections between each object, making the work both radiant and enclosed. The sensuous hands-on making eventually turning into a poetic meditation of materials and space.

Because there’s too many floors on the ground floor.

That’s how it began

Tenuous floor getting rust

Dust scrubbed with strong lust

Few bright green letters

How it began

Absorb how so strong

Garbage truck won’t stop

Be the storm

and laugh at misery those who’s approaching.

Tenuous floor getting rust

Dusts as white porcelain bust

Get out from this site

Leave the day on hold

Till flesh runs cold.

Edge of the universe ones told

How many floors will control

How many ground on we live

Be the storm and claim it to be.

Useless building site

Domain its will right.

Edge of the universe

will follow

Closing your eyes

will float

Like blue boat

No vertical rise

Will pretend to dance.

Don’t break it still

Because that’s how the edge lives.
