MONOCREO is a Milton Keynes based independent record label. Tonight will present a series of live performances in celebration of their newest release, Brenti by Sardinian composer and drummer Alessandro Cau. This CD is accompanied by a book of prints created by Milton Keynes based artist Jonathan Hill and will be available to purchase at the event.
Alessandro Cau is a percussionist, drummer, and improviser from Sardinia, Italy.
He has played with several bands and musicians including Mauro Sigura Quartet, Miles Cooper Seaton Trio, Undisco Kidd, Snake Platform, Sunsweet Blues Revenge, Stun, Moti Mo, and Nick Rivera.
Alessandro has also collaborated with numerous musicians including Kid Millions (Oneida), Miles Cooper Seaton (Akron/Family), Boredoms, Shahin Motia (Ex Models), Diagrams (Sam Genders Tunng project), Simon Francis (Ellie Goulding), Geoff Barrow (Portished), Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), C+C=Maxigross, Sikarnt Skoolisariaporn, Karash Roozbahani and Oliver Coates.
Tonight will celebrate the release of Ale’s first solo album entitled Brenti. Released on MONOCREO, this limited edition CD also comes with a book of mono prints by artist Jonathan Paul Hill; copies will be available at the event.
ELS is the solo moniker of Edward Simpson from Circuit Breaker (Harbinger Sound). ELS’ latest experiments were recorded in Rotterdam, creating jumpy, acid drenched dark ambience from heavily deconstructed 303 and 808 jams
Jonathan Paul Hill is an artist and musician based in Milton Keynes. His work has utilised a number of different approaches, from reel-to-reel tape collage, guitar abuse and turntablism. Recent output has been focused on precessing saxophone and clarinet through guitar FX pedals.
