Ride High members have recreated some of English painter George Stubbs’ most iconic work using a variety of media including photography, collage, drawing, painting and mosaic. Their exhibition includes an extraordinary, almost life-size recreation of Stubbs’ most famous piece, Whistlejacket.
Ride High is a Milton Keynes charity that uses horses to increase the confidence and self-esteem of disadvantaged children. The children learn to ride and care for horses and take part in a programme of structured learning in the Clubroom. Over 60 of the charity’s members are spending the autumn term preparing for the exhibition. This educational and creative project has captured their imaginations and will teach them a variety of skills including team work and communication. The children will take great pride in seeing their work displayed alongside that of the great George Stubbs.
The children’s love of horses sees them through challenging times. Their exhibition celebrates the true healing power of horses.
