Supports for painting have developed from rock faces through to the walls of buildings, paper, wood, canvas and different objects. Some artists create paintings that are not hung on a wall, but instead are displayed as sculptures or watched like a film. This November Saturday Studio at MK Gallery we invite you to work with a new Associate Artist each week to explore painting.
Join Artist Alice Boland-Rhodes as we explore making our very own paints and paintbrushes. We will be using scrummy fruits and vegetables to make our very own paint. There won’t be any paintbrushes either as we will be discovering new ways of painting with things like bushy kale, sticks and flowers. Expect some scrunching, squashing and squelching, as we get messy with our natural made paints. Please note that the workshop will use foods such as beetroot and dark berries that may stain clothing, although aprons will be available, come dressed for mess. Together we will make a painting good enough to eat.
