During October, Saturday Studio takes inspirations from our Ride high exhibition in the Project Space and 'The Big Draw' theme 'Drawn to life' both of which focus on living a healthier and happier life. Join us each week for fun activities and to celebrate well-being.

This Saturday join needlework and natural dye artists, Ciara Callaghan in a session exploring the natural colours offered to us by nature.

Explore painting with colours made from tree barks, roots, leaves and food waste. When we respond directly to the colours available to us  in nature it forces us to slow down and pay attention to the changing seasons and what is growing around us. The process of printing with plant stuff is completely natural and safe for the environment, the complex and beautiful colours produced reflect the changing environment around us.

We will be experimenting printing using leaves, mosses and seeds and natural inks on fabric. As well as exploring alternative ways of getting colour onto cloth and seeing how it can be modified with simple ingredients.
